The movie “Deliver Us From Evil” prompted the painting below. It is a painting of Pope Benedict protecting Father Oliver O’Grady (self-proclaimed pedophile and rapist of many children) in the papal grotto in Vatican City.

Several years ago in the mountains of Ben Lomond, I had a remarkable encounter with a beautiful lizard. It had a bright blue tail and an orange face and it came up the mountain to stare at me. It scrunched through the fallen leaves, making quite a racket with each footstep, and came quite close to me. It just stared into my eyes for a very long time. Then it scrunched, scrunched, scrunched away again. It felt like a magical moment and a blessing at the time.
