“Black or White – Rest in Peace”

16″ x 20″ – Mixed Media [2009]

This is a painting of Michael Jackson – half, looking like he did before he had surgeries and half showing how he had changed.  I loved his talent for many years.

“Clownfish in My Sink”

16″ x 20″ – Acrylics [2009]

I dreamed I found a clownfish in my sink, wearing a clown costume.  It’s hat was on the counter, next to the sink.  It said, “Meep.”

“The Evil That Men Do”

16″ x 20″ – Acrylics [2009]

The movie “Deliver Us From Evil” prompted the painting below.  It is a painting of Pope Benedict protecting Father Oliver O’Grady (self-proclaimed pedophile and rapist of many children) in the papal grotto in Vatican City.

“Lizard Magic”

16″ x 20″  – Acrylics [2009]

Several years ago in the mountains of Ben Lomond, I had a remarkable encounter with a beautiful lizard.  It had a bright blue tail and an orange face and it came up the mountain to stare at me.  It scrunched through the fallen leaves, making quite a racket with each footstep,  and came quite close to me.  It just stared into my eyes for a very long time.  Then it scrunched, scrunched, scrunched away again.  It felt like a magical moment and a blessing at the time.

“She Had Her Hair Done, Part II”

She was at the Crawford Grill when she felt someone grab her from behind.  It was not a happy moment, when she turned to find the doctor.

She was 19 and abortion was illegal.  She didn’t know what she was about to endure.  She had her hair done as though she was going to a party.

“Mary Had a Baby”

16” x 12” – Acrylics  [2007]

I find most paintings of Mary and her baby sad-looking and somber. I wanted to make an image showing her joy in her baby boy.
