“Clang!”

16″ x 20″ – Acrylics [2011]

When I was almost two, I fractured my skull and spent two months in the hospital.  They made me wear a strait-jacket.  I dealt with it by singing and my favorite song was The Trolley Song:  “Clang, clang clang went the trolley!”  I love the spirit I had that made the best of the situation!

“Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez”

16″ x 20″ – Acrylics [2011]

This is a painting of some of my favorite things about New Orleans.  I was lucky enough to visit there five times pre-Katrina and think it is the most wonderful city in the United States!  A generous friend made this possible, and she is toasting with a Bloody Mary near the bottom of the painting.  My niece who loved the town, too, is shown behind a curtain, rounding a corner.  She died six years ago at the age of 28.  The goddess is wearing her Mardi Gras mask and sending blessings in the form of confetti over the town to prevent any more harm…..  I love New Orleans

This is a painting of Michael Jackson – half, looking like he did before he had surgeries and half showing how he had changed.  I loved his talent for many years.
